Cosy Club’s Graduation Menu – a Proper Treat

Good vibes, amazing service – and a delicious dinner; a great place to celebrate that hard earned degree.

On Tuesday night, a friend and I headed to Cosy Club on Albion Street in Leeds City Centre. Having visited before, we knew to expect a good evening, but this visit exceeded our expectations. In the past, my ventures to Cosy Club have typically been breakfast with the girls, or an after-dinner drink on an evening, so this was my first proper experience of their dinner menu.

I can never quite put my finger on why I love Cosy Club so much, but it remains one of my favourite spots. Maybe it’s the assorted mix of vintage photos lining the walls, the music (just loud enough to create a buzz but still low enough for easy conversation) or the warm, ambient lighting that sets the perfect mood. Whatever it is, the atmosphere just works.

Arriving just before our 6 o’clock booking, I was greeted warmly and quickly shown to our table. One of the things I love about Cosy Club is its location; situated one storey up from the bustling city streets below, it gives the perfect view for people-watching. Luckily, I was seated next to the windows and could enjoy the view. With my friend running a little late, I ordered a pink lemonade and took a moment to unwind after a day at work, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.

The early dinner slot meant the venue was still fairly quiet at first, but it wasn’t long till the space quickly filled up; with many people dressed up looking like they had just come from their graduation.

The Graduation Menu offers the option of two or three courses, with a complimentary glass of Prosecco. When my friend arrived, they brought us over our Prosecco while we perused the rest of the menu. Each course offers four or five different options to choose from, but I have to say, it was difficult to choose as all of it looked so good.

We ended up going for the three-course option. Having placed our order, we then had time to enjoy the buzz slowing building around us. We didn’t have to wait too long til our first course was ready. I started with the Vietnamese style Buttermilk Fried Chicken, while my friend opted for the Oak Smoked Salmon & King Prawn.

Both having come hungry, we tucked in. The portions were just right – not too heavy, but packed with flavour. I especially enjoyed the kick from the chillies on the fried chicken, which added just the right amount of heat.

Just as we finished our starter, our next course was ready. Our plates were swiftly cleared, and our mains were put down. My friend ordered the Chicken Milanese, while I had chosen the Cosy Smash Burger. Both dishes looked fantastic and didn’t disappoint.

Everything tasted amazing, with flavours that really hit the spot, and the portion sizes were more than generous.

Overall, the mains were filling, satisfying, and exactly what we needed. I was particularly impressed by the chunky chips; while it might seem odd to rave about chips, they were genuinely impressive – light, airy, and perfectly crisp on the outside, they were standout in their own right.

By the end of the mains, we were both feeling full, but still excited for dessert thanks to how enjoyable everything had been so far. I went for the Rich Chocolate Delice, while my friend chose the Lemon & Raspberry Semifreddo. As a big dessert lover, especially anything chocolate, I was really looking forward to this one. The delice was indulgent and smooth, with just the right amount of richness. It felt like a proper treat. My friend also enjoyed he semifreddo, saying it was light and refreshing. We both thought it was an ideal end to the meal.

The service throughout the evening was also exceptional. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was friendly and attentive. Our server struck the perfect balance; checking in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed, but also giving us the time and space to chat away without feeling rushed. Each course arrived promptly, and any questions we had about the menu were answered with enthusiasm. It really made the evening feel special.

All around, we had a fantastic time, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The atmosphere combined with the good quality food and exceptional service did make it feel like the right place to come for a celebratory meal. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cosy Club to anyone searching for their celebratory meal.
