Stevie Vayne…Vainglorious: A Punk In The House

In his new memoir, Vainglorious: A Punk In The House (Armley Press), Vayne charts a journey that veers from the chaos of 1980s punk-rock anarchy to the polished boardrooms of the global dance music industry.

Leeds-born punk frontman turned international club culture heavyweight, Stevie Hulme – aka Stevie Vayne – has lived a life as raw and unpredictable as the music that shaped him.

Stevie shared the stage with Johnny Thunders, crossing paths backstage with Iggy Pop and The Sisters of Mercy, and navigating the inner workings of international music. Moving into the electronic scene, he created her first Prodigy show, and helped shape the careers of the likes of Swedish House Mafia.

Hulme brokered deals that shaped pop culture, including licensing Reel 2 Real’s I Like To Move It for the Hollywood blockbuster Madagascar, and worked with the likes of, Shakira, Matt Goss & So Solid Crew.

Stevie charts his journey from punk beginnings to running one of the world’s most influential dance music labels and directing global club nights at Pacha Ibiza

The memoir is a journey across decades of dance music history – from the backrooms of Leeds to endless Ibiza nights, superstar DJs and signing records that defined a generation of clubbers.

Hulme’s message is clear: whether you’re behind a DJ deck or negotiating record deals, you make your own path – and leave your mark on music history.
