Rapunzel: The Rock 'n' Roll Panto

Building on the roaring success of past hits including Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk and Red Riding Hood, Leeds’ ‘Grade A panto’ (Yorkshire Times) is back to light up the festive season at the world-famous City Varieties Music Hall.

This isn’t your average Christmas pantomime – this is a Rock ‘n’ Roll Pantomime! This year we’re bringing you Rapunzel: The Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto.

Imagine the perfect blend of laugh-out-loud audience participation, hilariously cheesy jokes, and a high-energy jukebox bursting with iconic rock anthems and chart-smashing hits. And the best part? Every note is performed live on stage by a showstopping cast of multi-talented actor-musicians. It’s a festive extravaganza like no other!

Running Time: Performances may last up to 2hrs 30mins (including a 20-minute interval)

Age Guidance: We do not recommend our pantomime for under 4s, but if you do want to bring younger children, we recommend ear defenders, and you will be required to purchase a ticket for any child aged 1+

Dramatic panto warning: Our Rock ’n’ Roll Panto contains loud music, smoke effects, flashing lights and possibly a few squirts too, plus loud bangs from the explosive action on-stage (we did warn you about the corny gags!). From experience, we don’t recommend our panto for children under four years old, but if you want to bring younger children, we recommend ear defenders, and you will be required to purchase a ticket for any child aged one upwards.

Schools performances: please note that large groups of young children will be present in the audience

Prices include a £2.50 booking fee. Where applicable, a £1.20 charge for postage will also be payable

The show on Sat 12 December, 2pm will be preceded by a free musical performance from Some Voices Choir at 1pm

The show on Sun 13 December, 1pm will be preceded by a free musical performance from Otley Brass Band at 12pm
